Endocrinology Expert and Former Director at Duke University Medical Center Joins Glytec Executive Team
Melanie Mabrey to serve as Vice President of Clinical Practice.
Greenville, SC — Glytec, a clinical information technology company dedicated to improving insulin management and glycemic control for patients in hospitals and other care settings, is proud to welcome Melanie Mabrey, DNP, ACNP-BC, BC-ADM, FAANP, as the company’s Vice President of Clinical Practice. Mabrey will serve as the subject matter expert on current clinical best practices for standardizing insulin management across the continuum of care.
Mabrey is an acute care nurse practitioner with over 20 years of clinical practice experience focused on chronic illness, particularly in endocrinology and diabetes mellitus. Mabrey previously served on the faculty of Duke University School of Nursing as an assistant professor, teaching courses on primary care and diabetes in the nurse practitioner program. She also served as the director of Duke University Medical Center’s Inpatient Endocrine Nurse Practitioner Program.
“My continuing passion has been to help patients improve their blood glucose control through the safe use of insulin, and I’ve been able to do this through direct patient care and consulting with other healthcare providers in the Duke Health System,” said Mabrey. “When I was introduced to the eGlycemic Management System® from Glytec, I knew I found a tool that could safely, quickly and effectively get patients’ blood glucose to goal. As Vice President of Clinical Practice at Glytec, Mabrey will focus on helping clients deploy and optimize the use of the eGlycemic Management System®, a cloud-based system that integrates with a hospital’s EHR and provides real-time glucose monitoring to improve insulin management. Additionally, Mabrey will serve as one of the clinical leads for advisory meetings; provide counsel to senior management regarding trends in healthcare research; develop educational programs offering CEUs; and represent Glytec on professional boards, conference panels and other committees.
